We offer comprehensive analyses and technical support services for wind and solar energy. Covering from prospecting to operational analysis, our expertise meets diverse needs, including resource assessment, compliance analysis, energy production certifications, corporate training and more.
Wind energy (onshore e offshore)
Based on our wind mapping techniques, we have identified, over the past 20 years, large areas in Brazil with potential for energy generation, which host today most of the great projects that have won bids and that are already in operation. We have the necessary tools to perform initial diagnostics, assisting in planning and strategic decisions. We can provide detailed regional analyses on land or at sea, to support the selection of the best locations for the development of wind generation projects.
Our consulting services cover all stages of wind project development, from technical support at commissioning and monitoring of measurement programs, to dimensioning of wind farms, layout studies, and shading and noise environmental analysis. We produce deliverables to fit the requirements of regulatory bodies and financiers.
For technical due diligence, we offer comprehensive reviews, including validation of measured data and layout updating, taking into consideration the current market situation, which continually includes new wind turbine models and technological innovations.
Our certifications, specially developed to meet the requirements of regulatory bodies and financing entities, cover all services related to wind data analysis and processing, including long-term predictions based on comparison with reanalysis data, as well as services related to energy production estimates, including loss assessment and unavailability, estimation of uncertainty and confidence levels for various probabilities.
Adjusted to meet client needs and aimed at making the best use of the available information, our operational analyses may include comprehensive project reviews based on prospecting data, actual performance analyses based on operating data, and critical analyses comparing pre-operational with real production. For performance analyses, we have developed CS StatsFarm, which identifies anomalies and calculates actual availability and loss rates based on SCADA data. This process includes the calculation of an operational power curve and the evaluation of O&M and BoP records, supporting long-term operational-based production estimates, as well as energy production climatology analysis and compliance with PPA contracting limits.
Combining the experience acquired over the years, Camargo Schubert offers customized in-company training, courses and lectures on wind energy and energy meteorology, covering basic to advanced levels. The programs are customized to meet client's specific needs, to keep pace with the global trends in the wind energy market, and to provide deeper understanding of the industry in Brazil and abroad. Training is targeted at diverse audiences, such as financial institutions, experienced or emerging energy companies, renewables, government agencies, as well as new operators and developers of wind projects, offering broad expertise to deal with the complexities of the field. We expect our training to help clients identify and seize opportunities in the dynamic scenario of renewable energies.
Solar
Also formed to meet the specific requirements of regulatory agencies and financing entities, both in Brazil and abroad, our certifications of solar irradiance data and energy production encompass all related services, from the analysis and processing of measured data, estimates of typical meteorological year (TMY) based on reanalysis data, to the assessment of energy production based on the technical characteristics and equipment arrangement. Production analyses consider estimates of losses and unavailability, uncertainties and confidence levels for different probabilities.
We provide technical support for all stages of solar power project development, from regional mapping for preliminary assessment, technical support at commissioning and monitoring of measurement programs, compliance analysis, project dimensioning, shading interference analysis, array optimization studies, production scenario assessments, generation forecast data for access requests with the ONS and support for technical due diligence.
Brazil has many locations with high potential for combined generation using solar and wind sources. At such locations, wind blows more intensely at night and wind farms have been built with excess grid transmission capacity during daylight hours. In these cases, solar generation stands out as an efficient solution to increase energy production, while avoiding the need for large investments in the transmission infrastructure. For this context, we provide analyses with combined generation series and curves, comparisons between hybridization scenarios including or not including battery storage systems, and hourly and seasonal forecasts to help planners to smooth the variations in generation and to maximize these benefits.
